Information on abstract submission
Please note that allabstracts must be submitted online by the deadline
of 1st March 2026
All abstracts that have not yet been presented at a German-language congress or accepted for presentation at the time of submission may be submitted. Abstracts may be submitted in German or English.
Upon acceptance, all authors agree to the publication of the abstract and, in the case of a video presentation, to the publication of the film by the DGU.

When entering the abstract text, please follow the structure already specified by the system:

- Materials and methods
- Results
- Conclusion
These outline points are automatically adopted and formatted by the system, do not need to be edited separately and are not counted in the maximum number of characters.
ATTENTION: Formatting and special characters may be lost during the copying process; these can be checked in the PREVIEW.
If you copy more than 1800 characters into the form, the abstract text cannot be saved!
TABLE
Important notes: You may create a maximum of 3 tables, and each table should not be larger than 10 rows x 10 columns.
For each row of a table, 50 characters (out of 1800) will be deducted.
After creating and filling in a table, you must place the table in your abstract text.
If there is a copyright, you will find a separate input field after the outline. The characters entered here are not counted towards the permissible number of characters for the abstract.

FILM
In order to guarantee an optimal quality standard for film contributions with sound at the DGU Congress, only video formats in mp4 format will be accepted:
- Format: mp4
- Running time: max. 7 minutes
- German or English soundtrack

Recommended settings for video encoding:
HD formats
Container: MP4
Video codec: H.264
- Progressive scan (no interlacing)
- Profile ‘High’
- 2 consecutive B-frames
- Closed GoP; GoP corresponds to half the frame rate
- CABAC
- Variable bit rate: No specific bit rate is required;
- Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0
- 16:9, no menus! (Menu structure)
Content should be encoded and uploaded at the same frame rate as when it was recorded. Common frame rates include 24, 25, 30, 48, 50 and 60 frames per second.
