Abstract submission

Information about handing in abstracts

Please note that all abstracts have to be given in online until the following deadline:01.03.2022.

Abstracts can be submitted in German or English. An abstract shouldn’t include more than 1.800 symbols, including spaces and punctuation marks (1. Question, 2. Material and methods, 3. Results, 4. Conclusions).
 
Employees of industry companies can not be lecturers. They can only be co-authors. Different institutions shall be labelled and a possible fund (third party fund) shall be indicated at the end of the abstract.

All abstracts that haven’t been presented at a German congress nor have been accepted as a presentation up until the point of giving it in are all allowed to be submitted. The abstracts are allowed to be in German and English.

All authors agree the abstracts to be published by the DGU once they have been accepted. In case of a video presentation all authors agree for their abstracts to be published by the DGU.

These structure points will automatically be formatted by the system and don’t have to be extra edited.

CAUTION/ATTENTION:formats and special characters can be lost during copying. These can be checked in the PREVIEW.

If you copy more than 1800 characters into the form the abstract text can’t be saved!

 

Tables

Important information:

You can maximally create 3 tables and each table shouldn’t be bigger than 10 rows x 10 columns.

 

For every row of a table 50 characters (from 1800) will be taken off.

After creating and filling a table you have to place the table in your abstract text.

 

ABSTRACT AS A FILM

Film contributions

Please note that the abstracts for the film contributions as well as the abstracts for the contributions for the presentation have to be submitted through the congress website until 01.03.2022.

The only accepted video format is mp4 format so that we can ensure an optimal quality standard of film contributions for the DGU congress:

● format: mp4

● maximum running time: 15 minutes

● German or English audio

● abstract film cover with film title, author and running time

 

Recommended adjustments for video-coding

HD formats

Container: MP4

Video-codec: H.264

 

  •  progressive scan (no interlace)
  •  profile “high”
  •  2 contiguous b-frames
  •  closed GoP; GoP equals half of the frame-rate
  •  CABAC
  •  variable bitrate: There is no specific bitrate demanded
  •  chroma-subsampling: 4:2:0
  •  16:9, no menus! (menu structure)

 

Contents should be coded and submitted with the same frame-rate as when recording.

The usual frame-rates are 24, 25, 30, 48, 50 and 60 pictures per second.
